Wisconsin 4-H Horse and Leadership Conference

Mark your calendar for the 2025 Conference, November 8, 2025 at UW River Falls

Open to 4-H volunteers and 4-H members grade 7 and older.
All youth members need to be accompanied by a guardian or chaperone for this experience.

Tentative Schedule:

We are excited for the  2025 WI 4-H Horse Conference at UW River Falls. You will have an opportunity to you will have an opportunity to go to the UW River Falls lab farm and experience sessions there with faculty from UW River Falls and other presenters and attend a number of rotating sessions on topics related to horses, developing your leadership skills, learning more about UW River Falls and so much more. In addition, the State 4-H Horse Association and Youth Association meetings will take place in the University Center after the conference is concluded. All members and volunteers are encouraged to attend.

Saturday, November 8

8:30 am – 9:00am – Registration: UW River Falls Lab Farm 

9:00 – 12:00 (noon)  – Lab Farm Rotating Sessions, 

*You will need to provide your own transportation from the lab farm to the University Center. You will not be able to walk from one place to the other.*

12:15 – 1:15 pm – Buffet Lunch: University Center Ballroom

1:15 – 2:15 – All Conference Session

2:30 – 5:45 pm – All Conference and Rotating Sessions, University Center  (this will include a snack break time) 

5:45 – 6:45 pm – Buffet Supper and Sportsmanship, All Around, and Outstanding Education Awards. 

Conference Concludes

6:45pm  – State 4-H Horse Association Meeting – all are welcome and encouraged to go to the meeting

          – Youth meeting – (youth to join association meeting when finished or as needed)

Session Information:
More information about rotating sessions will be added to the website prior to the conference. Workshops will be offered throughout the conference by invited instructors including 4-H youth and adult volunteers.  These topics are a mix of horse, youth and leadership related topics.  Workshop participants will also benefit from talking with leaders from across the state to gain new ideas and insights into the 4-H Horse Program.

     This will be done through the 4-H Online system. You should use the same e-mail address you use when you are logging in to your 4-H online account. Please see below for further instructions.

Registration is open September 23 – October 24, 2025 (or until all spaces are full, whatever comes sooner). No late registrations or onsite registrations will be offered.

Registration Types
– Youth, Conference Registration – this is for the entire conference day
– Adult Volunteer, Conference Registration – this is for currently enrolled 4-H volunteers for the entire conference day
– Parent/Guardian, Conference  Registration – this is for parents/guardians that are not currently enrolled 4-H volunteers for the entire conference

If you are attending only the Horse Association Meeting in the evening, you do not have to register for the conference. Please note, there are no meals included if you are only coming to attend the meeting – you will need to eat prior to attending.

Registration: Registration for this event will be completed through 4-H Online. 
1. Go to https://254hhorseconference.4honline.com
2. Click on the Register button.
3. Enter the FAMILY email address you use with 4-H Online and click the Email Login Link. Check your email for a link to log you into the event registration. OR Click on Login and enter your 4-H Online credentials to log into the event registration.
4. Click on Register next to your name on the Right. OR If you are a Parent/Guardian and NOT listed, enter your information under Register New Member and click on Create and Register.
5. Proceed through the registration process.
6. Payment Screen – you can pay online at this point or send in your payment. Please note: it will say to send the funding to your county – do not send it there. This is a feature in this program that cannot be changed. Please pay online or send it to the state 4-H office with the information located under payment.
7. You will receive a confirmation email.

Your registration is NOT complete until you have completed all of these steps.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: no refunds will be available after October 31, 2025. 
No Show Policy: Any registration withdrawal after the refund deadline will be responsible for payment regardless of attendance.

Lodging:
There are no room blocks set for this event. You do not need to stay at one of these places – but these are some options available in the area. You will need to make your own lodging arrangements for the conference.

Chaperones: If you are acting in a chaperone capacity, you will need to work with your local county educator to ensure you have all training and health coordinator required needs in place for that role.

To offer educational workshops which include both information and hands-on activity ideas for leaders to utilize when teaching youth.

To provide a forum for strengthening communications relative to the 4-H Horse and Pony Project.

To provide an opportunity for participants to network and share experiences
