Communications Team Adult Position Description

We are seeking male and female adult communication leaders interested in a fun learning opportunity with youth leaders from around the state.  The Wisconsin 4-H Communications Team is a group of youth leaders whose mission is to communicate the story of 4-H Youth Development in Wisconsin to 4-H Youth, Parents and Volunteers and potential 4-H members/parents and volunteers.  Team members will develop a mixed-media presentation for delegates attending Summer Academy, as well as photographing, and video recording performances to create promotional video clips for 4-H, Summer Academy, Arts Programs, and Fall Forum.  Youth will post stories and photographs to the 4-H blog, post captioned photos on Facebook and Instagram, develop a gallery of stock photos for use in county newsletters or flyers, and much more. Fourteen to sixteen youth leaders will be selected to be part of the Communications Team.

Responsibilities

Communication Team Adult Advisors work in partnership with the Communication Specialist.

  • State Team Adult Advisor Orientation and Planning Meeting during a weekend in January (virtually, tbd)
  • Participate in the State Teams Planning Weekend, April 4-6, 2025 at Upham Woods
  • Must be able to participate in the 2025 Summer Academy, June 16-19, 2025.
  • Provide team support by building and maintaining morale and being alert to individual needs.
  • Offer feedback and reflection opportunities with the group.
  • Work individually with Communication Team Members on individual projects or postings.
  • Accept supervision and support from WI 4-H Educational Program Specialist

Time commitment

January State Team Adult Advisor Retreat (virtual); April State Teams Planning Weekend, April 4-6, 2025 (Upham Woods/Virtual), June 16-19, 2025 (Summer Academy) & Fall Forum, November 2025 (Location to be Determined)

Cost

No cost; Adult Advisor expenses are covered by the Summer Academy and 4-H Arts Programs.
