Barron County 4-H Volunteers
For over five decades, Melanie and Jerry have shared a life rooted in love, faith, and service. They have been the heart of their family and pillars of their community—leading by example and always putting others first.
This is the impact they have brought to the Barron County 4-H program as leaders for over 45 years. Jerry and Melanie have done it all, with Melanie serving as club leader for the Sioux Creek Go Getters for 20 years and Jerry serving as a Shooting Sports leader for 15. Both also served on the 4-H Leaders Council chaperoning exchange trips, leadership conferences, and more. In recent years, they have been known for the woodworking workshops they put on for youth in Barron County and beyond. They continue to bring fresh ideas to the program with a new “sewing for service” initiative. Jerry serves on the Barron County fair board and both he and Melanie continue to judge at fairs all over.
Jerry’s work ethic and dedication carried through a long and respected career, while Melanie’s warmth and compassion touched countless lives through her support of family, friends, and neighbors. In retirement, they have not slowed down. Instead, they have devoted even more time to what matters most—attending every major event and milestone of their grandchildren, while remaining active volunteers in community and 4-H programs.
Those who cross paths with Jerry and Melanie quickly learn that their generosity knows no bounds. Their legacy is one of love, dedication, and community—values that continue to shine through the lives of their children, grandchildren, and all who have been fortunate enough to know them.
