Patricia “Pat” Luostari

Douglas County 4-H Volunteer

Pat has spent a lifetime working with, and for, youth in Douglas County. She is most proud of “Teaching kids to think critically and thoughtfully about what they do and the world around them.” Her 35 years of 4-H service has included 4-H Board of Directors, county 4-H leadership teams, Fair Board, Fair Superintendent, and leader of Clover Country 4-H Club. Pat is the youth delegation advisor for the Superior Days lobbying program in Madison.

Pat received the Kohl Educational Foundation Fellowship Award and is the long-time advisor to the school’s forensics and theatre programs. In 2010, Northwestern High School named the newly built school theatre the Patricia Luostari Theatre for the Performing Arts.

With her participatory and shared leadership style, Pat has brought various 4-H members to County Board and committee meetings to show they can and do have a voice and that, sometimes, you may have to respectfully question something.
