In Memoriam
Bob served as the Vernon County 4-H Agent from January 1957 through July 1988. He helped grow 4-H in Vernon County. In 1963 there were 834 members in 38 4-H Community Clubs. Many of those clubs continue today.
Bob focused on leadership development for youth and volunteers. He developed a leadership camp for youth and assisted with winter and summer camps. He advised 4-H Junior Leaders and excelled at training camp counselors. Bob developed a strong communication arts program and helped organize the Vernon County 4-H music group.
Bob partnered with 4-H leaders in the county, organized numerous camping events and had an instrumental role at the Vernon County Fair. One of his dreams was to have a commercial building at the Vernon County Fairgrounds and in 2012 this building was built and dedicated in memory of Bob Fredrick.
After Bob’s retirement as a 4-H Agent, he continued to serve youth throughout southwest Wisconsin as a judge at numerous county fairs. He especially enjoyed judging flowers, vegetables and woodworking.
