This 5-activity series helps youth explore the natural world, including plant and animal life, habitats, and human’s place in all of it.

  • Life in the Sidewalk Cracks—Compare plant and animal life in different habitats
  • Quick Frozen Critters—Youth learn about predator/prey relationships through this active version of freeze tag
  • Orienteering—Use a compass to navigate a course
  • Pop Can Casting (Fishing)—Make a pop can casting rig and take part in a casting contest

Audience: Youth in grade 3; can be adapted for older or younger youth

Time: Lessons range in length from 20-45 minutes
