National 4-H Week served as the perfect opportunity for Adams County 4-Hers to step outside their comfort zones and showcase the impact of 4-H in their community. Leading up to the week, 4-H Ambassadors had the exciting chance to go live on Wisconsin 106 FM radio. During this interview, they proudly shared the wide variety of opportunities available to youth through 4-H, including leadership development, hands-on learning experiences, and community involvement. It was a great way to highlight how 4-H helps young people discover their passions and build lifelong skills.
As the week continued, members gathered for the annual 4-H Spudtastic event. This popular tradition featured locally grown baked potatoes paired with homemade chili made from locally sourced ingredients. The event not only celebrated local agriculture but also gave members a chance to practice hospitality and teamwork while serving the community. Guests enjoyed delicious food and learned more about the values that make 4-H unique.
To wrap up the week, 4-Hers visited schools within the local district to promote 4-H and encourage new membership. Youth handed out 4-H-themed pencils and shared personal stories about their favorite projects and experiences. This outreach allowed members to connect with classmates and inspire others to explore their own SPARKS — those interests and talents that make each person unique. National 4-H Week was a wonderful reminder of how 4-H empowers youth to lead, learn, and grow while making a positive difference in their communities.
