Iowa County 4-H celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of its youth members, volunteers, and leaders during the annual 4-H Awards Day on Sunday, Dec. 8th, held at the Health and Human Services Building in Dodgeville, WI. This inspiring event brought together families, community members, and supporters to honor the dedication and hard work that define Iowa County’s 4-H program.
The ceremony highlighted the creativity, leadership, and growth of our 4-H members through various project areas, including STEM, arts, agriculture, and life skills. Awards were presented for outstanding project work, leadership, and community service. Jackie McCarville and Bill Mitchell were recognized and awarded the 2024 4-H Volunteer of the Year Award. Additionally, all volunteers were honored for their incredible commitment to mentoring and guiding youth throughout the program.
4-H Youth Development Educator Dan Brandt shared words of encouragement, emphasizing the role 4-H plays in fostering skills, confidence, and resilience among young people. “We’re proud of every member, leader, and supporter who makes Iowa County 4-H a thriving community,” said Brandt. “Today, we celebrate their hard work and look forward to the bright future ahead.” As the program looks toward the upcoming year, there is excitement for new projects, events, and opportunities, including expanding partnerships.
