Door County 4-H: Spotlight on the Door County 4-H Adult Leaders Association

The Door County 4-H Adult Leaders Association is a group of Door County 4-H volunteers who work together to assist the 4-H Program Educator with education and programming throughout the year, as well as fundraising and member/volunteer recognition. This group of volunteers – some Club Leaders, some not – has gone above and beyond to support the Door County 4-H program in many ways. The Door County 4-H Program Educator has been in the role for less than two years and has greatly appreciated the efforts of this group of volunteers in supporting the Door County 4-H program and helping during the time of transition and learning.

In particular, this group of volunteers is recognized for the hard work and large amount of time that they put into managing the Door County 4-H Dairy Bar food stand during the 2024 Door County Fair. The volunteer who was to serve as the 4-H Dairy Bar manager this year was unable to fill this role at the last minute. The members of the Door County 4-H Adult Leaders Association stepped in to divide this role and cover all of the needs – staffing the food stand, ordering supplies, making food, and supervising the youth and adult volunteers who helped. This meant long hours on top of the other Fair and 4-H related duties that each of them held.

Door County 4-H greatly appreciates the members of the Door County 4-H Adult Leaders Association and all of the work that they put into the Door County 4-H program. The program may be small, but these volunteers are working to ensure that Door County 4-H members have a great 4-H experience and to increase the number and type of opportunities that are available for Door County youth. Thank you to the members of the Door County 4-H Adult Leaders Association for their dedication to Door County 4-H!
