We are happy to introduce our new Rock County 4-H Program Educator, Josh Firgens. Josh started on January 22, 2024 and is excited to familiarize himself with the Rock County clubs and projects.
Josh grew up in Suring, Wisconsin (which is located halfway between the North Pole and Equator) working on his family’s farms before attending UW-Whitewater where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Education. He later earned a graduate degree in Educational Technology from National Louis University. For the past 21 years, Josh has been a teacher at the elementary through high school levels, teaching Business and Information Technology Education throughout southern Wisconsin. His most recent school project included writing a FABLAB grant to equip and educate students about STEM utilizing laser engravers, large format printers, 3D printers, vinyl cutters and heat presses.
Josh enjoys spending time with family and friends, helping his two children with their 4-H projects, and working on community service projects through his local Lions Club. He looks forward to visiting the clubs across Rock County and participating in the projects and activities they offer.
Let us welcome Josh to the UW Madison Extension Rock County. He may be reached at josh.firgens@wisc.edu.
