Ron Jakubisin is the new Washington County 4-H Program Educator

Ron Jakubisin is the new Washington County 4-H Program Educator. Ron is no stranger to Extension as he began his career in 2019 as the Positive Youth Development Educator serving both Washington and Fond du Lac Counties. Even in that role, Ron had opportunities to offer his skills to support his 4-H counterparts with educational sessions at Fall Forum, Officers’ Training; Interview & Application workshops, and the most important, 4-H Lego Club event judge! Ron’s career prior to Extension has always had a youth focus. 30-day Outward Bound-style programs with adjudicated youth to residential youth treatment programs early on, then shifting to youth/peer-helper leadership programs (high school youth/adult partnerships) and primary prevention education in schools delivering outcome-base life-skill curriculums.

Ron is a big believer that authenticity and enthusiasm are keys to his success, be it talking to youth after a training; at a meeting with a couple volunteers; or being the plenary with an audience of 500. Ron likes to spend his spare time with family, learning how to fish & kayak, collecting vinyl records, gardening and working on his old house.
