Volunteer Role Descriptions
All Extension volunteers will receive a role description that details the responsibilities, time commitment, and goals of the volunteer role. Click on the roles below to find out more about each role, and view the role description.
Club Leader
The Club Leader role is the person or people who are responsible for working with youth leaders to lead the 4-H club. The roles of Club Leader can be filled by one person or a team approach.
Project Leader
Project Leaders help support project/topic-specific learning at the club or county level. They may support a project group, or a project committee.
Club Enrollment Coordinator
Club Enrollment Coordinators provide support for members who are enrolling in the club and work with youth leaders to welcome families to the club.
Activity/Event Leader
Activity/Event Leaders provide leadership or organization for a specific activity within a club or at the county-level. They work with others to carry out positive experiences for youth.
Adult Advisor/Chaperone
Adult Advisors work with a team of volunteers and staff to ensure youth have a safe and positive educational experience.
Committee Volunteer
Committee Volunteers provide leadership for a committee and/or participates as a member of a committee, and work with youth and adult volunteers to offer a positive youth development experience
4-H Project Coach
Project Coaches serve as a mentor to youth participating in a project judging experience.
Health Coordinator
The Health Coordinator role provides leadership for the health and safety needs of participants and works cooperatively with youth and adult volunteers in providing a safe event for youth.
Sparks Champion
Youth leaders, adult volunteers, or parent/guardians who help youth identify a spark and affirm and encourage youth to meet their goals.
