Don Dukerschein

Chippewa County 4-H Agent

Don spent his career as the Chippewa County 4-H Youth Development Agent. From 1968-2001, he approached youth with a smile on his face, asking them what they learned through their 4-H experiences. Don made significant contributions to mechanical sciences, school conservation days, and programs in boater, hunter, all-terrain vehicle, and snowmobile safety. Don gave leadership to forming the 4-H Forest Oversight Committee that manages the property and uses funds for post-secondary scholarships.

Don was part of the original committee of the 4-H/FFA Quality Meat Animal Program. This fall, the first third-generational family will be enrolled in the program which celebrated its 35th anniversary. Through this program, 4-H and FFA members learn about the livestock industry.

He is an active community volunteer known and respected for work with Chippewa Valley Outdoor Resource Alliance, hunter safety teaching, and Feed My People Food Bank. He remains humble, always looking for ways to help others with his talents. He inspired many 4-H’ers to carry out the leaderships skills gained through 4-H in their careers or volunteering in the communities where they live and work.
