Marathon County 4-H is celebrating the creativity, talent, and individuality of its youth through its first Youth Art Show, “4-H Creative Expressions: Sparks of Creativity.” Ten talented 4-H youth were selected from the entries submitted to participate in this special exhibit.
The Youth Art Show provides an opportunity for young artists to share their creativity with the community and celebrate the many different interests and “sparks” that make each 4-H member unique. The exhibit features a variety of artwork, including photography, drawings, and other creative expressions. Each piece reflects the youth artist’s perspective, inspiration, and personal connection to the world around them.
The artwork is on display throughout October at the UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. The gallery is open for community members to view the artwork during community events held at the theater. Families, friends, 4-H members, volunteers, and community members are encouraged to take a few minutes to stop in and experience the creativity of these young artists.
A special Youth Art Reception was held on October 2nd to celebrate the participating youth and their accomplishments. Families, friends, and 4-H volunteers were invited to join as they recognized the artists and celebrated the opening of the exhibit. The reception also provided an opportunity for the youth artists to meet one another, see their work displayed in a gallery setting, and share their accomplishments with the people who support them.
The Marathon County 4-H Leaders Federation generously supported the event by providing snacks and beverages for the reception. Their support helped make the evening a welcoming celebration for youth and their families.
We are incredibly proud of the ten youth selected to participate in this inaugural exhibit. Sharing their work takes courage, creativity, and confidence. All are qualities that help youth go Beyond Ready for the future. We hope this first Youth Art Show will become an annual opportunity for Marathon County 4-H youth to showcase their talents, explore their sparks, and inspire others through their creative expressions.
